PRODUCTIVITY PLACES - Free Training for Job Seekers and subsidised training for Existing Workers
Under the Productivity Places Program, those who are Job seekers and meet certain eligibility criteria are able to get free training from Ramsden Telecommunications Training to obtain Telecommunications qualifications. Subsidised training is available to Existing Workers looking to up skill. The specific qualifications that Ramsden Telecommunications Training has been contracted to provide varies from state to state, but includes for job seekers: Certificate II in Telecommunications Cabling (ICT20308), Certificate II in Telecommunications (ICT20208) and Certificate III in Telecommunications (ICT30208). For existing workers: Certificate III in Telecommunications (ICT30208) and Certificate IV in Telecommunications (ICT40208.) The certificate III and certificate IV qualifications have pre-requisites. Certificate II qualifications are entry level with no pre-requisites.
As part of the Certificate II training you can obtain the Open Cabling Registration (after adequate cabling experience) which is legally required for a cabler who wants to work on a Customer Premises doing Telecommunications cabling, Security cabling, Network cabling and Access Control cabling. The Open Registration training is a pre-requisite for the Certificate III which also gives you Specialist Cabling Endorsements in: Optical Fibre cabling, Structured Data cabling and Coaxial cabling.
